inheritance funding
When I got divorced I was on CT Medicaid for a little over a year. My ex-spouse has been responsible for the money paid to me due to his lack of child support. I am wondering if this money that is outstanding to the state which is not a lot be taken from an inheritane that I would received from my parents. Anyone know?
It depends. If you were also on Medicaid then yes. If it was only your children and you were not receiving any other social services then maybe not.

Since you are no longer on Medicaid, you can get your inheritance without anything being taken from you. The inheritance means your assets would be too big to qualify for Medicaid again. I am in California. Here they have a rule that if you pass away Medicaid can recover what they paid out and can levy your estate after you die but not if you have a surviving spouse.
